District of Tofino Smoking Regulation Bylaw No. 1113, 2010

Smoking prohibited in any part of a municipal park (includes property owned and dedicated as a park by the District of Tofino for the purpose of pleasure, recreation and community use by the public). The definition of smoke or smoking specifically includes other weeds or substances and hookah pipes.

Definitions

“Smoke” or “Smoking” means to purposely inhale or exhale smoke from or burn or carry, a lighted cigarette, cigar, pipe, hookah pipe, or other lighted smoking equipment that burns tobacco or other weed or substance, but does not apply to the ceremonial use of tobacco in connection with a traditional aboriginal cultural activity. “Parks” means any real property owned and dedicated as a park by the District of Tofino for the purpose of pleasure, recreation and community use by the public.
